 Placing the Mat.

As you install your mat, you will be using Dual Lock(provided) and double sided tape (not provided).

Step 1.  Cut the strips of Dual provided in your Avalanche Rescue Challenge Kit into 1/2 inch lengths.  Use a cutting board to make it easy.

Step 2.  Before you place the Mission Objects, use double sided tap.  Turn the mat over, looking at the back side of the mat, place double sided tape on the mat at Tower 1 and Tower 2.  A 3 inch length should be enough for each Tower.

Step 3.  Carefully place your mat such that the mat is touching the North Wall and East Wall of the Board.  For reference, the Safe Zone is in the Southwest corner.  The mat may leave a gap on the South and West Walls.  If the mat is too big, cut the mat along the South and West Walls to fit the Board.

Step 4.  "DL" means Dual Lock.  Attach 1 top and bottom length of Dual Lock together.  Firmly stick 1 side of Dual Lock at each "DL" location on the mat.  Charge 2 will need 2, 1/4 inch of Dual Lock.

You should have extra Dual Lock.  Place extra Dual Lock under the the following Mission Objects:           The Ladder, The Hospital and Tower 1

Step 5.  Remove the backing from the top section of Dual Lock.  Now place the Mission Objects on the Dual Lock, lining up the Mission Object with the outline on the Mat.

Step 6.  Follow the instructions on the Mat to place Tower 3 and The Ladder on the Quad Platform.

 Practice Score Sheet

IMPORTANT:  If a Mission Object has multiple locations available for a score.  It is your team's choice to decide where to score the Mission Object.  You will receive a score for the Mission Object at the end of the Match, as if a picture in time.

If a Mission Object has more than one scoring opportunity, scores are NOT added together.  You will receive the score based on the location of the Mission Object at the end of the Match only.

Example:  The robot recovers the Rescue Beacon to the Safe Zone, for a score of 20 Points.  You then have the robot deliver the Rescue Beacon to the Hospital to improve your score to 30 Points. Maximum score would be 30 Points, the two scores are NOT added together.

Also, The robot recovers the Rescue Beacon to the Safe Zone, for a score of 20 Points.  If on the attempt to deliver the Rescue Beacon to the Hospital, the attempt fails for a "0" Score at the Hospital.  Your final score will be "0" for the Rescue Beacon.

All Mission Objects are scored where they end the Match only,  not the actions during the Match.
